DISTRICT SALES MANAGER

In this position you are the communication channel and information link with our customers, both the retail stores and the independent distributors; individuals who have purchased the exclusive rights to distribute certain cookie brands, in certain outlets within a specifically defined geographic territory and operates under guidelines.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES

The District Sales Manager is accountable for achieving the District's budgeted annual sales, and planned growth. Develop new business and effective execution of sales and marketing plans. Maximize efficient distribution, while increasing space, position and obtaining new business opportunities through the direct store delivery system. Also the District Sales Manager is responsible for directly monitoring the activities of 8 to 12 independent distributors. The supervisory responsibilities include but aren't limited to recruiting, interviewing, selecting, and training independent distributors. Insuring that all distributors fully implement all promotional programs to maximize sales and/or build the most effective off-shelf displays in all stores. Address complaints and resolving problems as needed. Develop and cultivate relationships with accounts within district and the makes regular sales calls on these accounts, to increase the company's sales volume. Handle headquarters accounts as assigned by Region Sales Manager to maximize display sales and shelf space improvements. In addition the District Manager is also responsible for analyzing on a periodic basis marketing issues and competitive activity within the district or with individual accounts; recommending solutions to the Region Sales Manager; and conducting periodic sales meetings to present promotion activity, introduce new products, display execution objectives, improve display selling techniques, and provide sales aids.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will be results driven, and have strong customer service skills. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training with a DSD program; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid motor vehicle's license and have had no moving violations during the past three years. This position may require as much as 80% travel time. Daily physical activities which include: lifting, bending, standing, reaching, kneeling; will frequently lift up to 15 lbs; occasionally up to 50 lbs. Must be PC literate and able to quickly learn and adapt to and learn various software applications with minimal instruction.
